What can cause feather loss in Birds?

There is several reason for feather loss in birds.  We will just hit on the basic. If you have a good Avin vet check and all medical is O.K.  Then you must look at boredom for the bird. There is several things one can do.

1.  Spend time with your bird.  They can give you unconditional love or a quick bite. I prefer the  love.

2.  Give your bird a lot of baths. (With or without you.) Showering with a friend can be fun. This also gives the birds beautiful feathers.

3.  Toys, Toys, Toys and more Toys.  Birds,  like puppies love to play. Think up things that will be fun for all of you.  Birds can be so funny at times.

4.  Out of the cage time. How would you like to be locked in a closet and kept there all the time?  Birds need  some controlled freedom.

5.  Interaction with the birds. Talk to them.  They listen!  Some times they are sassy right back to you. You may be surprised at how smart a bird can be.

6.  Diet!  Look at WHAT you are feeding your bird and HOW. Give them a good diet and a challenge. You never see plucked birds in the wild.  Makes you think HUH?

7.  Last but not least,  CLIP WINGS.  Beautiful wing feathers birds can......... Flyyyyyyy
